One of the most important tools available to an actor, entertainer,
and-of
course-a singer, is probably his/her voice. Artists who have managed to
train their voices are able to convey to their audiences, with a simple
sentence, word, or sound, an incredible variety of feelings and nuances.
Their voices become their ultimate trademarks.
In an ongoing effort to prepare complete and versatile artists
for all-around careers in the entertainment business,
Patricia
Sturla Studios has now added singing classes to its core instructional
curriculum. Students will be able to explore all the different
techniques (utilized in Europe as well as in the US), designed
to train and develop the human voice. Additionally, our students
will be trained in solfege, intonation, quadrature, vocalization
exercises, diaphragmatic breathing, musical interpretation and
analysis.
An important fact to consider is that there is a great demand for singing talent in the city of Los Angeles. Musical producers are always on the lookout for (and interested in hiring) professionally trained singers who are ready to join different musical groups or start a career as soloists.
Q. People tell me that I have no voice,
nor
ear for music, but I love to sing. Could
Patricia Sturla Studios teach me how to sing like a professional?
A. Our dictum
is that "everyone can sing." What
often happens is that many people have
not received (or havent had enough) voice training, and therefore need
to work a little harder at it to get it right. Recent studies in phoniatrics
have shown that practically anybody can identify and correctly reproduce
musical notes, and follow a rhythm or a tune. For reasons too elaborate
to discuss here, some people have a much easier time for music and
song than others. However, as the study demonstrated, if a person wishes
to learn how to sing and is properly trained, he/she will be able to succeed
just as well as those who were born with the
advantage of a natural predisposition.
"Your voice can become your ultimate trademark."
Q. If I study with Patricia Sturla Studios, I will have the opportunity to participate in musical events on TV?
A. Students of Patricia Sturla Studios have the opportunity to participate in different musical events that the studio regularly develops, promotes, and presents (in theaters as well as on television). Some of these shows have been presented at venues such as the Sequoia Convention Center, the Celebrity Center, the Convention Center L.TO., while others have been featured on television in programs such as Cuánto cuesta el show?, Sábado Gigante, De todo un Poco, Canta y Gana, La Academia, and/or auditioned for Protagonistas de la Música, Voces de América, and Gigantes del Mañana, just to name a few.
